母難日 三詩之一 ～ 今生今世

今生今世 In My Life Time （譯注）

今生今世，
我最忘情的哭聲有兩次，
一次在我生命的開始，
一次在妳生命的告終。

In my life time on an occasion, ”Mother!”, there are twice.
The most emotional and unforgettable crying I’ve ever had.
Once was at the beginning of my life.
The other was at the end of yours!

第一次，
我不會記得是聽妳說的，
第二次，
妳不會曉得我說也沒用 ，

The first time,
I won‘t remember and it’s you who told me about it.
The second time,
You won’t know and it’s useless for me to tell you.

但 兩次哭聲的中間啊!
有無窮無盡的笑聲 ，
一遍一遍又一遍，
迴盪了整整三十年，
妳都曉得我都記得。

But, in between these two cryings of mine,
There were countless laughters,
Over and over again,
Reverberating for a full thirty years,
You knew all about and I remember also.

母親去世後，每次我讀這首詩時縂是 忍不住滿眶的涙水，今日在涙眼模糊中譯完此詩。我又打開 Ave Maria的音樂，在樂聲中我又再讀一遍 余光中的 這首〈毋難日〉的詩，願母親天國永享平安！
