散場以後，遊戲已了！
這一片綠草如茵
這一帶少有人行
When the Game is over, the game is over!
The grass of the field looks like a green carpet..
There are few people here in this place.

這沉寂的球場青草地
像似默默地
追懷網門前 健兒的身影
在那兒重映 激動的心境
The quiet green of this center field
Seems, silently, to reminisce about
The beautiful player images in front of the goal net.
This reminds me again of the once exciting scene.

散場以後，遊戲已了！
這一片綠草仍如茵
這一帶已少有人行
沙坑裏 仍保留幾個墜落的體形
跑道上 盡是些釘鞋躍起的腳印
在那兒重映 歡呼的情境
When the Game is over, the game is over!
The grass of the field still looks like a green carpet.
There are only a few people here in this place.
Imprints of falling hips remain in the sandpit.
Cleat prints of bounding feet are all over the track.
This reminds me again of the once cheering scene.

散場以後，遊戲已了
這一片綠草永如茵
這一帶有孤影獨行
站在空空的看台上
聽不見歡呼的聲音
也沒有參與的激情
When the Game is over, the game is over!
The grass of the field is always like a green carpet.
There is a person walking alone there.
Standing among the empty audience seats
I can’t hear the cheering sound of the audience,
Nor can I feel the exciting spirit of the participants.

不用提醒我這就是
遊戲散場後的光境
這些映像此刻都一一湧現
在我今天的白日夢裏！
就散了吧，遊戲真正已了！
Needless to remind me, this is
The scene when the Game is over!
These images appear, one by one at this moment,
In my daydream today!
Let it be! The game is truly over!

邵維廉(星熒)1954 年 某日 寫于 台灣左營 海官校。2008 年6月 修訂改寫于美國 加州 La Jolla。 William Y. Shaw (邵維廉(星熒)) wrote the original poem, “When the Game is Over散場以後,“ in Chinese in 1954 at the Naval Academy in Tsoying, Taiwan. It was revised, rewritten and literally translated by the author in June, 2008 in La Jolla, California, USA.
