一線的兩端（談釣魚）/ The Two Ends of a Line (About Fishing)
星熒
他是雅士，已過盛年
似溫良謙和，也久嘗人間煙火
垂釣 是他心情放鬆的娛樂
他手握釣杆，振臂用力一揮
釣杆上線盤快速地轉動
放出長長釣線，劃空而過
挂著魚餌的釣鈎沒入水中
在魚兒的世界裏佈下陷阱
他在岸邊，拉緊這條魚兒的死亡綫
把感覺隱藏水裏，將目光集中水面
他心無旁念，靜坐岩石邊
耐心地等待，等待魚兒來上鈎受騙
它是魚兒，正當青春
猶少不更事，更難保免於飢餓
覓食 是它生活必然的功課
無知的魚兒游出洞穴，遠離了水草
它游向常去覓食的地方
那兒等著它的是魚餌，在釣鈎上搖晃
它怎能料到，那向它招手的竟是死亡!
他和它就要相碰了
在相隔一線之瞬間
它一口咬住魚餌
同時也被釣上魚鈎
滿嘴的鮮血，撕裂的劇痛
. 這一刻 產生了
屬於兩個極端的 瞬間小世界
這一頭，雅士的驚喜 - -
「釣到了！釣到你了！」
他正慶幸興奮自豪
竊喜這偶然的斬獲
將是他晚餐的炫耀
那一頭，魚兒的痛悔 - -
「為甚麼？為甚麼是我？」
它在死亡線上掙扎
等待那悲慘的結局
那是它生命的盡頭！
在一線的兩端，這一刻有：
悠閒，欣喜，作樂的雅士
連著那
滴血，絕望，無辜的魚兒！
He is refined and elegant, a man who is passing his middle age.
Seeming to be gentle and modest, he has gone through the bitterness of life for quite
a while. Now, fishing is his amusement to ease his mind.
Holding the fishing pole, he swings his arm with a sudden force.
The winding wheel of the fishing-line on the pole is rotating rapidly and
Releasing the long, long string that goes out high and across the sky.
The fishing hook that bait is hanging on, descends into the water.
He has just set a trap in the fish’s world.
He is on the shore and holding the fish’s death-line tightly,
Letting his senses, feelings be hidden in the water and his eyesight be concentrating
on the water surface.
He sits by the rocks with a clear mind without any other thought,
Waiting patiently, waiting for the fish to fall into his trap.
It is simply a fish, but young.
Being inexperienced in life, it is hardly free from hunger.
Seeking food is naturally the necessity of its life.
The innocent fish moves out of the cave and travels far away from waterweeds.
It goes to where it is used to finding food.
What is waiting there for it is the bait, which is swaying on the hook.
How could it image what is waving to it is simply Death!
He is about to touch it, though a line separates them
At the instant moment, being a line length away from him,
It bites the bait – and
Simultaneously it has also hooked on the string, the fishing-line.
Its mouth is full of blood and is peeling off. The fish is suffering sharp pain.
This moment has just created two instantaneous small worlds,
Which belong to two opposite extremities.
At one end, is the sudden joy of the gentleman –-
“ I got it! I got you! ”
He is celebrating his luck with excitement and pride.
He is glad his sudden capture
Shall be his showoff at the dinner table.
-At the other end, is the pain and regrets of the poor fish –
“ Why should be like this? Why me? ”
It is struggling on the line of death,
Waiting the coming of the sad ending of the game,
That is the ending of its life!
At the two ends of a line, there are, at this moment,
A relaxed, delighted and pleased man - - the refined gentleman,
Connecting with
A bleeding, despairing and innocent fish!
註：在這大千世界中有億萬個，包括我們自己在内的，大大小小世界。這一個釣魚事件結束了，在魚與釣者這兩個個體之間的小小世界裏，這個偶然的幸與不幸的小小事件，結束了。這大千世界中的「這一小點」又恢復了平靜，好像甚麼事都不曾發生過一樣。同時又有許許多多新的大小事件，又正在許多小世界間上演。
Note: In the universe there are trillions of small worlds including those of ourselves. This fishing incident between the two individual small worlds, which belong to a fish and a fisherman, has just been over. This incidental event between the fortunate and unfortunate small worlds comes to an end. “This tiny spot” of the universe is calm again as if nothing has happened. However, a lot of new events, big and small, have been occurring at the same time among many small worlds in the universe.
